2022 NAACP Image Award nominated hit investigative podcast After the Uprising from iHeart Media

An unforgettable investigative podcast series that documents every shocking twist and turn into the investigation of the mysterious deaths of activists after the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

I began as an intern in late 2020 on Season One of After the Uprising, but I quickly worked my way up to Writer’s Assistant and even received additional writing credit for my work on our final episode. I received credit for writing, reporting, and producing Season Two in which we “solved” the murder of famed activist Darren Seals.

After the Uprising Season 2 Trailer

Wrote, Reported, and Produced

Darren Seals, 29-year-old rapper and famed activist, hailed as a possible successor to Malcolm X, is found shot dead inside his burning Jeep the morning after Labor Day 2016. Six years later, the former Missouri state senator who was in the Ferguson movement with him, Maria Chappelle-Nadal, joins co-host Ray Nowosielski and our investigative team for a two-plus years investigation and all of its twists and turns. They cross a landscape of rap artists, protestors, gang members, cops, FBI agents and even a serial killer, from the streets of St. Louis to the HQ of JayZ’s Roc Nation in New York City, from government offices to prison cells, picking up the trail left by Darren's murderer -- with an ending you have to hear to believe.
